🏷️ Naming Origin of Oran
Oran's name comes from the Berber word "Wahran," meaning "the two lions" — a nod to a local legend about the last two lions in the region, killed on the mountain overlooking the site. The lions became the city's lasting emblem and still appear on statues at its entrance today.
