📜 A Brief History of Oran
Oran was founded in 903 CE by Andalusian Muslim traders, and its sheltered Mediterranean bay quickly made it a key trading port linking North Africa with al-Andalus. Over the centuries it passed through Spanish, Ottoman, and French rule, and today it stands as Algeria's second-largest city and the economic and cultural hub of the western coast.
