This massive Roman amphitheater was built around 238 CE in the ancient city of Thysdrus, with an estimated capacity of 35,000 spectators, making it one of the largest surviving Roman amphitheaters in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site in its own right. Walk through its underground passages, where animals and gladiators were once held, and imagine the roar of the crowd this place witnessed nearly two thousand years ago.
