📜 A Brief History of Zanzibar
Zanzibar has been a major Swahili coast trading hub since ancient times, and it reached its peak importance when the Sultan of Oman, Sayyid Said, moved his seat of power from Muscat there in 1840, turning it into the center of the spice and ivory trade. Today it's known for the historic Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site whose architecture blends Arab, Persian, Indian, and European styles.
