📜 A Brief History of Interlaken
Interlaken grew around an Augustinian monastery founded around 1130, once one of the largest landowners in the Bernese Oberland. In the early 19th century, the region caught the attention of writers and artists like Goethe and Mendelssohn, sparking its rise as a world-famous tourist destination — today it's the main gateway to the Bernese Alps.
