Yingxiong Shan Cultural Market sits at 46 Ma'anshan Road in Shizhong District, at the foot of Yingxiong Shan (Hero Mountain). Established in 1992, it has been a defining fixture for older Jinan residents. Its aisles hold books, antiques and paintings, gemstones and jade, flowers and root-carving sculptures, handcrafted ceramics, and calligraphy supplies. The central corridor is lined with bookstores and calligraphy-supply shops, a basement level is devoted to furniture, and an upper floor overlooking the square handles traditional paintings and calligraphy. It's liveliest on weekends. In recent years it has blended its traditional character with contemporary "guochao" trends, while keeping its identity as a destination for authentic Chinese art collectors.
