Alameen sits on Sanlitun West 5th Street in Chaoyang District, just behind the German Embassy. It was opened by the former manager and chef of the well-known Alsafa restaurant, and its name means "the honest one" in Arabic. The dining room, built around an indoor tree, gives it a light, spacious feel, with shisha pipes and Al Jazeera murmuring in the background. Fully halal, Alameen serves Arabic staples such as a mixed dips platter with hummus, fresh fluffy flatbreads, mixed grill, and rice dishes, alongside individual grill sets. For many longtime residents, Alameen sets the standard for Middle Eastern dining in Beijing, and it remains a favorite gathering spot for the city's Arab community.
