The river that named the country is born here: glacial springs bursting from Mount Igman's foot into instant streams, swan lakes and wooden bridges — Sarajevo's picnic ground since Austro-Hungarian days. Enter via the 3km great alley of ancient planes, ideally by traditional horse fiacre (children's unanimous favorite); eat trout beside the very stream; bring bread for the swans.
