Four kilometers northeast of the Haram rises Jabal al-Nour (642m), crowned by the cave that changed history: Hira, where the Prophet ﷺ received the first revelation: Read.

The Climb

60-90 minutes up about 1,200 steps — a real effort unsuited to the elderly; the cave itself fits only a few people. Go at dawn, carry water, wear proper shoes.

At the foot, the new Hira Cultural District tells the revelation story in a modern museum — ideal for those who cannot climb. Note: the visit is historical, not a ritual of Hajj or Umrah.
