East of the Haram extends Al-Baqi, Madinah's cemetery since the Prophet's time: Mothers of the Believers, his daughters, Uthman, Abbas, Hasan and ranks of companions rest here. Men enter at set windows (after Fajr and Asr typically), women greet from outside; the visit is the Sunnah's salam, supplication and reflection — and the absolute simplicity of the graves is the place's eloquent lesson.
