Qatar meant it as a bridge of cultures and it became her loveliest quarter: Katara — a Roman-style amphitheatre open to the Gulf, the Golden Mosque and the Turkish-tiled blue Katara Mosque (Zainab Fadil Oglu's gem), heritage pigeon towers, galleries, global dining and a family beach. The amphitheatre hosts season festivals — check listings before your evening; afternoon into night is its hour: walk, dine, close on the nearby Corniche.
