Batumi is compact enough to cover its highlights in three unhurried days, since most sights sit within the city or a short ride away. Here's a tested itinerary balancing nature, entertainment, and relaxation.

Day 1: Boulevard and Piazza Square. Start your morning walking Batumi Boulevard, the roughly 6-kilometer seaside promenade lined with manicured gardens, sculptures, and fountains. Stop at the Alphabet Tower, a 130-meter structure shaped like a double helix carrying all 33 letters of the Georgian alphabet — you can go up (around 20 GEL for adults, 5 GEL for children) and dine at its revolving restaurant overlooking the city and sea. In the afternoon, head to Piazza Square with its Italian-style architecture, open cafés, and bars, then wander the narrow Old Town streets nearby. In the evening, return to the boulevard for the illuminated singing fountains at sunset — the boulevard's most beautiful hour.

Day 2: Botanical Garden and the Beach. Spend the morning at Batumi Botanical Garden, about 9 kilometers north of the city on the "Green Cape" (Mtsvane Kontskhi), founded in 1912 by Russian botanist Andrei Krasnov. Spanning roughly 108 hectares with nearly 2,000 plant species from across the world's continents, it's one of the largest botanical gardens in the former Soviet region (entry around 20 GEL; hours vary by day). After lunch, head to Batumi's pebble beach to relax or swim if the season is warm (June-September is best).

Day 3: Nightlife and Unwinding. Enjoy a slow morning at a boulevard café, then ride the Ferris wheel near the Alphabet Tower for a panoramic view of the city and coastline. In the evening, explore the entertainment side Batumi is known for — from the musical fountain shows to seafront restaurants, with the option of visiting one of the city's major casinos if that interests you (see our dedicated nightlife and casino guide for details). If you have extra time, add half a day for the nearby Dolphinarium.

Practical tip: getting between these spots is easy and cheap via Bolt or Yandex Go, and all distances are relatively short, making Batumi ideal for a short, packed getaway.
