WF Central sits at the heart of Wangfujing Street, one of Beijing's oldest and most famous shopping streets, and was opened by Hongkong Land at the end of 2017. The building was capped at 32 meters to preserve sightlines toward the nearby Forbidden City, and its design combines traditional Chinese architectural elements (base, bay, and roof) with a nod to the elegance of Europe's classic retail promenades.
The complex houses international fashion and luxury jewelry boutiques, a range of restaurants, a large basement art space, and the upscale Mandarin Oriental hotel above the retail floors.
For a Muslim visitor from the Gulf, the location's appeal also lies in its proximity to Donglaishun, a century-old restaurant on Wangfujing Street itself that was founded by Hui Muslim traders and is famous for its instant-boiled mutton hotpot. That said, visitors should always confirm current halal compliance directly, as WF Central itself carries no official halal certification.
