Jungfraujoch (3,454m): Europe's highest railway, guaranteed snow, the Ice Palace, the prestige — but 200+ francs, peak-season queues, and ironically you can't see the Jungfrau itself. Schilthorn (2,970m): the full Eiger-Mönch-Jungfrau wall in front of you, about half the price, far fewer crowds, the revolving Piz Gloria breakfast, and the Mürren-Gimmelwald villages en route — but no late-summer snow guarantee.

Verdict: first trip with snow-dreaming kids → Jungfraujoch. Best view and value → Schilthorn, our personal pick. Either way, check the summit webcam that morning — fog doesn't care what you paid.
