Souq Otaiga is a Riyadh institution for fresh produce, famous above all as the capital's dates headquarters: dozens of specialized shops carrying every Saudi date variety — Sukkari, Khalas, Ajwa, Saqi — at competitive prices locals swear by.

Beyond dates, it has a large fresh fruit-and-vegetable section at wholesale prices, plus nuts, spices, and honey. Date season (summer to early autumn) is its peak. Tasting before buying is welcomed.
